With The ReVive Mat By WOD&DONE

Crushing a tough workout feels great in the moment but you may feel like you got hit by a bus the next day when muscles tighten up and DOMS sets in. Most of the time, post workout pain is inevitable but with the proper recovery tools and regimen it can be minimized and controlled. All of the top level athletes understand the importance of recovery which is why they dedicate a significant amount of time to it every day.

Go beyond stretching with the ReVive Mat by WOD&DONE. It has more than 8,800 pressure points to help relieve tight muscles, speed up recovery and improve sleep.

Our ReVive Mat is built on the ancient principles of acupuncture and acupressure and is designed to promote blood flow to sore muscles and stimulate the nervous system. We’ve specially designed the mat to be pliable. Just use a towel to help mold it to the curvature of your back or any other body part that’s hurting.

One simple tool to help relieve pain and promote muscle recovery

  • Reduce tension
  • Increase endorphins naturally
  • Target Specific Muscle Pain

Reduce Tension

The ReVive Mat’s 8,800 pressure points strategically press into the skin, relaxing those sore muscles and reducing tension. This pressure helps improve your circulation and directs the blood flow toward damaged muscles. This jump-starts the recovery process by delivering rapid and direct nourishment to the injured tissue and providing an injection of oxygen.

Increase endorphins naturally

Using the ReVive Mat also helps produce and release endorphins, our body’s natural painkiller. This deep, intense, targeted massage can be done any time and anywhere. Just roll out the mat and target any areas of soreness in your body. Target your treatment by using a towel to customize the mat’s fit with the curvature of your body.

The ReVive Mat isn’t just for muscle pain. It also helps relieve headaches and can help those suffering from insomnia or poor sleep.

Target Specific Muscle Pain

WOD&DONE Recovery Mat can be positioned to target major muscle groups that typically experience discomfort as a result of strenuous exercise or regular daily activity. Muscles in your neck, back and legs are generally the most affected and our recovery mat can help relieve tension and pain in these specific areas. The pressure points of the mat will stimulate the production of endorphins in your body and increase the circulation of oxygen and nutrients, promoting faster recovery.

Lower back
Lower back pain is one of the most complained about injuries from hyperactive athletes and general population alike. This pain could be a result of an intense exercise regimen, an awkward movement or simply sitting in front of a computer for a prolonged period of time. The muscles in the lumbar region of your back could be strained in a variety of ways and unfortunately, for so many of us, it happens frequently and without any warning. Regular use of the Recovery mat and its thousands of pressure points, can help alleviate such muscle tension and significantly reduce all related discomfort.

How To Position The ReVive Mat:
Lay your Revive Mat on a bed or floor. You might want to start on softer surfaces if you are just starting to use the mat. As an option, wear a thin layer of clothing to dull the initial sensation if you are just beginning to use the mat. Make sure you lower onto the mat gradually and support yourself with your arms aligned with the sides of the mat. Next, draw your knees up toward your chest and press your lower back into the surface of the mat. Finally, either keep your legs bent at the knees or straighten them – depending on what’s most comfortable for your body. For post-workout recovery, lay on the mat for 5-10 minutes at a time, several times a day. However, if you experience chronic back pain on regular basis, it is recommended that you lay on the mat for 15 to 30 minutes before bedtime or immediately after coming home from work or from the gym to unwind and release tension

For a custom fit to your lumbar curve, place a pillow or rolled towel under the mat where your lower back will come in contact with the mat.

Upper back
After a long day of sitting or standing at work, coupled with stress, a stiff upper back could be debilitating. The muscle tension that builds up over the course of your daily routine can make you extremely uncomfortable. Moreover, if gone untreated, in some cases such muscle spasms can be so severe that it could actually cause your spine to shift. The regular use of our Recover mat and its thousands of pressure points, can help ease such muscle tension and significantly reduce all related discomfort.

Neck
Whether you have a stiff neck from sleeping wrong, or lifting at a gym, or from your last WOD, 15minutes a day spent with the recovery mat can make a big difference. Simply roll up the towel, put it under the mat and lay down carefully. You need to completely relax and stay in the position for 15 minutes. The pressure points of the mat will stimulate the production of endorphins in your body and increase the circulation of oxygen and nutrients, promoting faster recovery.

Legs and other body parts
We all love our squat days. But what we don’t love is feeling sore for the next day or two. Using the Recover Mat to target those hard working quads, glutes, hamstrings and calves is a very effective way to get the new blood flowing into the affected area and oxygenate the cells. The mat helps release the natural painkillers called endorphins, that create an effect of blocking pain, and can help reduce the inflammatory process as well.

How To Position The ReVive Mat:
Position yourself as you see on the picture below, and target the area that is sore. Place a pillow or a rolled towel under the mat to make it more convenient and easier to target the right muscle group. Whether it’s your calves, your quads, glutes or hemis, 5-10 minutes of acupressure applied on those spots can help alleviate the discomfort and speed up recovery.
